1965 356C CABRIOLET
We are in the early stages of a
complete restoration on this 356C Cabriolet.
Because the front floorpan has
some weak areas and is rusted through, the complete pan is going to be
replaced. The battery floor has also suffered some rust damage and is
being replaced. After mounting on the rotisserie, the car is sent to the
blaster for paint and undercoat removal. After it returns, panels are
repaired, replaced, and the chassis is primered with epoxy primer and moved
onto a body dolly, then the long process of sheetmetal repair begins. Because of
some older repair work, thin metal on the outer skin needs to be replaced.



After metalwork the car is painted and undercoated:

and painted, and the assembly begins:




The maiden voyage: 150 miles
round trip to The Dana Point Concours - 1st in Class / 356C Street:
