1958 SPEEDSTER

This will be a complete ground up restoration of a very original and very straight car. All metalwork is original, even the battery floor! There are a few small rust areas that wouldn't have been discovered if the car hadn't been completely media blasted to bare metal.

Unfortunately, this car was subject to some poor quality repair work that was leaded over by the previous "restorer". These areas are pictured below:

These repairs looked fine because they were covered with lead. If left alone, they would have produced blisters in the paint after a short time. The metal will be cut out beyond the repair and replaced with a new piece which can be welded in properly and cleaned so that lead or all-metal filler can be applied without future problems.

Below are further repairs to the body and doors:

The engine is the stock 1600N but is being modified with 86.5mm pistons, late connecting rods, lightened flywheel, sport cam, S90 heads (with our special 40mm intakes) and Weber carbs.
